TCC Track Day 3rd Feb 2007

The day started early. Picked Thomas at his office at 0530hrs. Went to bed at 0300hrs and had to wake up at 0500hrs. The excitment and enthusiasm for this track was so high! I was full of confidence that I will be able to do a better timing as my last track day, and I will have Thomas to use my car and do a timing lower than 2mins and 50secs.

We left for Pagoh to meet Valentine and we head up to KL together to have Valentine's car done up. Swop his road tires to the set of semi slicks, and his stock exhuast to free flow exhuast. We had lunch while leaving his car at the workshop. Once lunch was done, the Z-monster begin to haunt me. Feeling very tired by the time we reached Sepang.

I done the first few warm up laps and the next round I had Thomas to track with my car. We did our track time alternately. Thomas had a tough day, doing almost 27 laps in total, with my car, Valentine's and Unc Foo's Evo Wagon. I only did like 12 laps of the 22 laps done on with car.

Without disappointing me, I knew Thomas can do below 2:50min with my car. The best he did was actually 2:54min, while I did my personal best of 2:53. He was about to give up till I pester him to do a few more laps since there weren't much car on the track at that time. My pestering and pressure paid off! He came back with a 2:49.279!

Valentine did his personal best of 2:44, and Thomas did a 2:43 with his car. Unc foo did 2:54 for his evo wagon, and Thomas did a 2:47 for him! Thomas was the champ of the day! Setting 3 records in a day with 3 different car! Our next track day will be on 3rd March. This time, he won't be tracking with out car cos his Evo 9RS is ready by then! After he demodded his monster ATR, he has been tracking in Valentine's ATR, setting record every track day.

This is the time sheet for the day.

Track day ended at 1700hrs, everyone was happy with the results. While Unc Foo and Alex went home first, Valentine, Thomas and me went back to the workshop to swop the stuff back to Valentine's car. With all the tracking done, this is what happened to Valentine's semi slicks which was used for sme time already.

The rubber is practically torn off showing the wires that is holding the tires. Hard core driving!

Once done with the swop, we had dinner and took a slow drive home. We stopped at JB to meet GQ cos Thomas need to pass him the F-con which GQ is buying from him. It was till we had our car washed up then we head back to Singapore. By the time I'm home, it's already 0300hrs. Gosh... 22 hours of keeping awake, 3 hours of track, 9 hours of driving!

Home Sweat Home

After days of hot sun and sweaty t-shirts, I finally get the hang of the feel that I'm back in Singapore. Had an appointment with S which she got me to do a photoshoot for a store which she is doing their website. Spent the evening doing the photoshoot, and also getting paid for it. So to say, this is my first officially paid photoshoot. Will post up the site with the pics once S get their website done.

We passed by this bread store and these racks of freshly baked bread caught our eyes. S bought one loaf for me but I left it in the car and it got under the passenger seat which I forgotten about it as well. Days later when I dig out my bottle of water which rolled below the passenger seat, I found the loaf of mould bread!

Went to S's house to transfer the shots into her lappy to get the webby done for the store. While she's making tuna roll from the loaf of bread she bought, I took a nap.

Went to JDM to fit the spoiler which Kelvin got it done for my car. Just a prototype, the carbon fibre spoiler should be here by March.

Got the rotors and brake pads changed at GTR. Preparing my car for track day on 3rd of Feb. The old rotors, some of the slotted lines have been even out due to abrasion of the brake pads.

Had lunch at a nearby kopi tiam and saw this sign. First time I see such sign in kopi tiam.

Couldn't sleep in the night and took some pics of these cigars I bought at Hong Kong airport. Made comparison with the usual Marlboro lights I'm smoking.

I took back this pamphlet which Tereza used the photos I took for her shop during my first visit to Shanghai.

Bought this ashtray in Hong Kong. Cheri, S's flatmate got hers at Far East shopping mall for SGD$15. I got it for HKG$20.

This is the usual ashtray which I've been using for years. It was a Valentine's day gift from my very dear secondary school friend, Alice whom I've know for 18 years already. She got me this like 10 years back.

My collection of liquor and champagne.

Nothing much to update for now. Been down with diarrhoea for the past few days. Didn't see a doc cos I still got some medication for diarrhoea from the pevious time I seen the doc. So stayed home for the week except for going to my aunt's house warming. She bought a new landed property, got it teared down and rebuild. Very nice place. No mood to take pictures when I was there due to the illness. Next time will post some pics of her very nicely done up house. And also went to my friend's daugther's full month celebration. The last time I met up with this friend of mine, his son is only 1 year old and we met during Chinese New Year. How time flies and now he's a father of 2 already.

Other than spending sleepless nights at home and waking up late noon, going for lunches, dinners and coffees with friends, and now recovering from diarrhoea. Oh, track day on 3rd Feb was fantastic!!

I still don't like Singapore cos of the humid weather...

Well... Home Sweat Home....
