Singapore Lancer Club

15th September
Slept at 0900hrs, woke up at 1200hrs. Rained heaviily the whole afternoon and it's really nice to be able to slack at home in this weather. Nelson ask me out for coffee, and since I got the intention to go JB later to check things out for Singapore Lancer Club (SLC) close door event. Need to check that everything is in place for this event tomorrow.

The weather ain't helping much and Dennis is not in JB to assist me when I go in. So I dropped the idea and head home to rest and pack for tomorrow's trip. Also to get come rest before I head for gym in the night. Don't really feel well, but then don't wanna miss gym just because of a slight flu.

Gym was tiring today. Colin put me into a string of weights training and it really pulled my muscles alot! My whole body is beginning to ache after gym. Went in to JB to pump petrol and wash my car. Drove by this place that sell Wan Ton noodle. And being a sucker for Wan Ton noodle, I couldn't resist to not give it a try.

The noodle is indeed chewy although it tasted quite plain. but the bite of the noodle already compensate the tasteless sauce. Maybe cos I didn't order it with chilli. They do sell buns and I suddenly got craving for Kong Ba Pao. It's actually a big piece of stew pork with fats wrapped in a bun. DELICIOUS!

Finally home by 0230hrs. Received a free CD from Heineken. Some groove music. Went to bed early. It will be a long and hectic day tomorrow.

16th September
Woke up at 1000hrs to pick M up. She wanna tag along with me for this SLC event. We had lunch at Gelang Patah which is near Nusajaya. Had Bak Kut Teh. Initially plan was to have BKT at JB then head to Nusajaya. Sammie was suppose to come along with her friend Julia, but Julia got some contest to go to and Sammie didn't gave me an answer the night before. Used to her last minute changes already.

Anyway, brunch was so so. The BKT ain't that nice as compare to the one in JB.

After lunch, head striaight to Nusajaya to get the equipments up and ready. SLC members will be here in about an hours time. There were 26 cars and 39 people in total. They met at the toll and drove in together.

They didn't hesitate much after I brief them on the place and started to use the drag stripe.

They were suppose to use the skid pan but the weather isin't helping and started to have a heavy downpour. Everyone drove to the shed and instead drove on the drift track which poses more challenge as compared to the skid pan which is used more for drifting. Their initial plan was to do some handbrake tunrs and some technical driving. Since the downpour started at about 1600hrs, They couldn't do much on the drag stripe cos of the rain water as well.

Everyone got cosy under the shed and some started to felt hungry. I went out to town to get some food, and the heavy downpour caused some part of the road to be flooded. I wasn't careful of the flood and my exhuast had some rain water going in, which caused the car to stall. Had to park along the road and begin to crank the car again and again. Finally after an hour, everything start to work fine.

Pack some food for them, had some bite with Nelson and M. When all is done, we head back to Nusajaya, and to see some of them already having fun on the drift track.

One of them actually had a minor accident. He skidded on a corner where most drivers tend to be careless on and drove straight into the tyres. Good thing we had tyres there, if not his car would have went into the drain. Nothing much happened to his car except for the front bumper which went a bit off alignment.

As the day about to end at 1830hrs, some of them start packing and putting back their sub-woofers back.

And here are some Lancers with full body stickers and fierce bodykits.

Of cos before we leave the place, a photo shoot is a must.

While SLC members headed their own way, Dennis, Nelson, M and I went for dinner, after dropping some stuff at Dennis's place.

Funny looking jars used as cups.

We had some toasted bread as well. Traditional way of baking and toasting the bread.

We had a chat on our future plans regarding the drag stripe and skid pan. Also to discuss some collabration with other workshops and car clubs that are keen on this place we have. Left for Singapore at 2200hrs.

On the way home, saw this police truck with metal barriers on it. Used for riots cos of the IMF events here.

Finally home at 2300hrs. What a day it was. And feeling a bit unwell. Must be the sun and rain.

17th September
Maddie called me in the middle of the night at about 0430hrs, when I'm deep in my sleep. But surprisingly I heard her call and answered it. She was in pain and vomitting, suspecting she got food poisioning. I pulled myself out of bed and sent her to the hospital. To date, she's the 4th person I've sent to the hospital. Or rather 3rd, 1 time is her dog.

Doctor gave her a jab, and sent her home to rest. Too bad my hp went dead on me and I forgot to charge it while I was on the way to pick her up at her place. If not I would have taken some pics of her horrible state. She was quite pissed that I was loafing at her condition, but happy that my hp went dead. Hehe..

I bought breakfast home to eat while reading the papers. Head back to sleep after taking some pills. But only to enter dreamland at 1100hrs.

Woke up at about 1530hrs with a flu worse than the day before. Seems like the lemsip I bought is not working well. Had dinner, took the pills again and went back to dazed land.

18th September
Woke up at 0600hrs, went out to get some breakfast, read the papers, had the pills and went back to bed. Woke up 1200hrs, and felt groggy, so went back to bed again. Woke up in the evening, still feeling bad. Now Maddie is feeling ok, but I'm down with flu.

Had my dinner, ate some pills and back to sleep again. Never have I felt so tired before. Woke up in the middle of the night, feeling hungry. So went out for supper and bought a different kind of pills. Seems like the lemsip ain't helping much, after eating 8 of them. Bought Panadol for cold instead. Popped 2 down and went back to bed.

19th September
Again, woke up at 0600hrs. Feeling better, partly cos I sweat out myself. Bought breakfast home, read papers, ate 2 more pills and went back to bed. This time, I slept better and woke up at 1700hrs feeling better. But my pillow, blanket and bedsheet are wet due to my sweat. Had dinner, at 2 more pills and went back to bed again. Sweat myself out more this time, waking up at 0000hrs. Felt much much better after taking the Panadols.

20th September
And this time, slept too much, couldn't get back to sleep anymore. Am so awake, I decided to go to JB and have the Wan Ton noodles I had the other day. Also to get a taste of the Kong Ba Pao, since now my taste bud is getting back to normal.

Moreover I need to go to C&C to replace some parts for my car, which have been here for some time already. Also, water is entering my right head lamp causing the fuse to blow, and need to replace them too.

Had breakfast in JB, came out at about 0700hrs, and reached C&C at about 0830hrs. Decided to wait at C&C for my car. Don't think it's wise to take a cab home and back again when my car is done. Since I brought my iBook along, I spent the whole day at C&C. Had lunch with a friend who works at KIA. Used the iSymphonic massage car at C&C and dozed off.

Mitsubishi launched this new car. Forgot what's it's called. Very small.

This is the pinnon bush that they've changed.

Also, changed the head lamp. Gonna change the righ tie rod, and also the turbo, cos there are slight leak of oil on the turbo.
Finally all is done by 2000hrs. Saw some ants on my car and I suspect it's because I usually park my car under this tree of my neighbour and the leaves are always on the windscreen. Thus the reason those ants got into the roof rack of my car.

Anyway, reach home at 2100hrs, after having dinner at Katong's Punggol Nasi Lemak. Went to bed early. Woke up at 0400hrs now. I doubt I can get to sleep later. Will be going out to get some breakfast.

Breakfast in the early morning

14th September
Just like the past few nights, couldn't get to sleep. Decided to have breakfast, so drove around looking for a coffee shop that's open in the wee morning. My car brought me to Parkway Parade, and I saw that Ya Kun is about to start the day for business. Waited for a while, read some newpapers and finally they begin to take orders at 0730hrs.

Ordered a breakfast set, comes with coffee, 2 slices of bread with kaya and butter, also 2 soft boiled eggs.

Went home after having my nutritious breakfast. Thinking I would be able to sleep well due to the breakfast, I still can't get to sleep. At 1100hrs, I forced myself to sleep. I was thinking of not sleeping for the day so that when night falls, I would be able to sleep through the night and tune back my bio-clock to it's normal self.

Well, woke up at 1400hrs. Only slept like 3hrs. Felt groggy but couldn't get back to sleep anymore. Lie on my bed, watched a bit of TV and got myself up at 1800hrs to go for the weekly meet up at GV. Had my lunch/dinner at GV, and start to feel sleepy. Stayed till 2000hrs and the guys intend to walk over to Villa Bali for red wine. I reckon it's best I head home for some sleep, and hopefully I can sleep through the night.

But they decided to go GL for some light desserts. So they hopped into my car, no point driving so many cars there and have difficulty finding parking. While at the traffic light at Kallang Stadium, I stopped next to a Mazda Alexa, and it's a female driver with a male passenger in front and another female passenger behind. Me being the friendly driver, smiled at them and gave a friendly wave. They smiled back and waved. The female driver was giggling away and I wound down my window to ask her what so funny? Let's share the joke.

She thought I was checking her friend at the back, but i was actually checking if her car is a hatch back or sedan. Cos Mazda 3 and Alexa looks alike only difference is the boot, so I took a glance and she thought I was checking out her female friend behind. The female driver is friendly. Asked me how's my day, told her it's bored, dunno where to go so on our way for dessert. As a friendly gesture, I asked her where she's heading too, and she said home. Well, ain't that boring too? I asked her. We laughed away.

Too bad the guy passenger is in the way, if not I would have asked her for her name, and maybe asked her to join us for dessert. Gotta give the guy some respect, since I dunno who is he to the female driver. If he's her boyfriend, it may not be a good idea to be so direct, moreover at the traffic light!

Green light, and I drove off, not before saying bye and see her around. Didn't get to see her car plate number cos it was pretty dark and I drove off while she's slowly picking her speed. Anyway, good to know a friendly driver on the road. Pretty sweet lady as well. Hope to see her again, without a male passenger next to her. :P

Had beancurd, the popular Rochor beancurd, which has an outlet at GL. Honestly, it doesn't taste as good as the main branch. The portugese egg tart is still acceptable.

Because of IMF, pleny of road closure around the Suntec area. Road block almost at most junctions in that area. We decided to drive through and check things out since there some diversion. All in all, we saw more than 20 traffic police and that's not usual to see so many traffic police in a night. Drove around town and see how tight and how many junctions have traffic police stationed. It was quite a sight. So many traffic police to see in a night. :P

Drove them back to GV to pick their cars and it's home sweet home. Beginning to feel sleepy during the drive home. That's good. Can sleep through the night then. But once I reach home, took a bath, I felt more awake! Arghhh.... It's gonna be another sleepless night.

15th September
Wide awake still. Went out to the nearby coffee shop and have breakfast. Same thing as what I had at Ya Kun. Coffee, bread and eggs. But, the looks and the taste is so different from Ya Kun. Ya Kun's definitely taste and look way better!

$2.90 for this set. I rather pay 80c more to have what I had at Ya Kun. But too bad they ain't open at 0600hrs.

So now, home from breakfast. Took some flu pills. Don't really feel well and my nose is leaking. Took some muscle relaxant as well, hoping it will make me feel relaxed and go to bed. Let's see if I can just sleep.....

Good night. Rather, Good morning. :P

Hankook Tires

7th September
Went to the gym after meet up at GV. Reach home just before midnight. Still, couldn't sleep early in the night. Or rather, slept early, at 0600hrs.

8th September
Boring Friday. Went to Thomas's office to spend the late afternoon there. Partly cos the internet connection at home is down. Also there will be a Tire Appreciation session at 2000hrs by Hankook at Toh Guan, organised by SLC, which is pretty near his office. Thought of hanging around after he end work, but followed him to pick up his son at Bukit Gombak MRT, and then to his house, which he will join me for the Hankook session.

BG mrt is a place to hang out in the evening! Alot of eye candies! It's the meeting place for car learners where their instructors are waiting for them. Waited 15mins for his son and I've spotted quite a few of babes! :P

Had home cooked food at Thomas's place. His mum cooked, and though it's just some simple dishes, I've not had home cooked food for months already.

We headed for TG after watching the TV serial. The place is pretty cool for a tyre shop. 1st floor is where the cars changes their tires and do alignments. 2nd floor is the hang out area, with a pool table, a bar and also some racks for rims and some retail product. A very comfortable and cool place I would say.

Here's Vincent explaining to us about the aspects of Hankook tires. Met him a few tims at Sepang during track where he's trying out the new Hankook tires.

Members from SLC.

Actually my purpose is not to appreciate tires. But to collect some money from the moderators of SLC. They will be holding a closed door event at Nusajaya and we're organising this event for them, providing them with the facilities they need. Come 16th September, it's gonna be FUN!

Sent Thomas home and headed home, with a free cap from Hankook and won a polishing wax on a Q&A.

9th September
Had lunch with Thomas and Nelson at Sin Ming. We had the Bak Kut Teh. We were actually boggling on what to have for lunch . We decided on BKT cos I accidentally sent a pic to Thomas, of the BKT which I was recommending to my bro's gf on msn. And thus we decided on eating BKT for lunch.

Best BKT I had in Singapore!

We hanged around for a while thinking of where to go. Couldn't come to a place for us to hang out in the hot afternoon, so headed home to slack.

Met up with the SPUG gang to have Stingray at 2230hrs, in memory of Steve Irwin, the popular crocodile hunter from Australia who got stung by a stingray and died from the poison. Also to return YH his PSP and to pass Chris his lenses. Didn't ate anything cos I was still full from the dinner I had at home.

Went in to JB after the supper. Had my car washed and pumped petrol. Home by 0200hrs.

Still can't sleep at night.

Saw this Kancil with super long antenna.

10th September
Rainy Sunday. Home the whole day. Slept the whole day.

Only out at night to have coffee with Peter, Nelson and Cherry at Serangoon Garden's CBTL.

1st time meeting Cherry. She just joined out club. A young sweet girl.

Home before midnight, the rest need to work the next day.

Still can't sleep at night.

11th September
Met with with Anita at her office. She called me in the morning and asked me about what Nelson smsed her on borrowing her her from her for 5 mins. Woke me up in the morning and hanged up, knowing I would still be sleeping. Called me noon time again and I'm still sleeping. Hahaha.. :P

We reached her office at 1545 to have coffee first, then proceed to check on her car's ECU. Couldn't read her car's map, so couldn't do much to tune her car. Too bad....

Saw this Hyundai Getz with green bodykits, logos, door handles, twin exhaust, etc. Really outstanding!

Reminded me of a quote in Fast and Furious Tokyo drift.

Han: The Red Evo's yours
Shawn Boswell: What do you mean?
Han: You're representing me now. What you think, I'm gonna let you roll in a Hyundai?

Maybe I should just stick the last quote on my car and piss those Hyundai owners. Naughty naughty.. Heheheh.. :P

Met up with Alex and Peter at Changi Beach. They are there to re-tune Peter's car. On the way to Changi, a Nissan Cefiro was on the lane where I was about to exit. He high beamed at me but I was able to pull away from him so that he don't need to slow down. While I was cruising on the 1st lane, he sped past me, I guess he's asking for a game. I caught up with him, overtook him and micheviously waited for him to follow up, and I pulled away from him again. Now he's getting the signal that I'm playing with him. I managed to pull away from him for a distance, but then, it won't be fun to see him on my rear mirror. Let him overtook me and I followed behind him, closely. We were driving at 150km/h and once we hit the highway, we're going on about 180km/h.

I kept sticking close to his rear end and pressing forward to pressure him to go faster. He zig-zagged on the highway, while I took my chance to block him from entering the same lane as me. Overtook him while he was cutting lane and him being caught behind slow vehicles. Let him overtook me again, and I continue to push him. All ended while he exited the highway. Which I think he didn't want to cos he was tyring to cut inbetween lanes till he got stuck to the lane for exit, which there were lorries blocking him to join back the highway.

Well, it was quite a thrill. And would be more fun if he didn't exited, unwillingly. :P

Headed back to meet up with the rest. Waited for Louis to pass me the Texas Lubricants umbrella for this coming 16th event.
We had dinner at Changi Village before I head home to take a nap and then to gym at night.

Tonight's gym is more tedious. Did some weights and really feel the pull on the muscles. As usual, couldn't get to sleep in the night. Must be the gym session which is keeping me wide awake. Couldn't get to sleep so went to JB to wash car and pump petrol. Back home at 0800hrs and finally I slept at 0900hrs.

Jam at Singapore customs. PLENTY of bikes at the custom at 0700hrs.

12th September
Woke up at 1700hrs. Slacked the whole evening at home. Never been a day I didn't go out at all. Hahaha.. :P

Me forcing myself to sleep at 0540hrs.

13th September
My nocturnal nights making me wake up late in the afternoon.

Did some errands and back home to have lunch and then took a nap.

Woke up for dinner, watch some TV, and dozed off.

Was suppose to go to gym but overslept.

Had supper with a friend. Salted bean curd drink. 1st time eating this. Not bad.

Really slacked the whole day doing nothing much.

Now? 0520hrs, still wide awake.

Beautiful - David Tao

This is another song I like from his new album.

Finally - David Tao

This song is from David Tao's new album, Beautiful. This album is highly recommened. In fact all his albums are good. Though he don't produce much albums and not as fast as those in the music industry, his album never disappoint! Enjoy this song. I like it alot.

N73

30th August
Met up the the Wangs at their hotel and brough them to have lunch at 328 Katong laksa. Then to the hostel to arrange for LS's stay. Too bad there isin't any flats which they like can be rented. Went shopping at Suntec City. Had dinner at Samba brazilian restaurant at East Coast. After dinner we head to MB for some tea to digest our heavy dinner. Then it's back to their hotel and me back home to rest.

Took this pic while on the road in the afternoon. It reads, "This is a stupid yellow sign". So what makes the driver? :P

And this is a view from the hotel, looking out at Scotts road.

31st August
Today is LS's birthday. Got him a DVD dictionary, thesaurus, and one that teaches GCE 'O' levels english. Spend the late afternoon at PWP to get his present. Went home to rest as we're only meeting at 1930hrs for dinner at East Coast Seafood Centre.

Brought along the whiskies and we finished half a bottle of it and 1/3 of the JD they brought along. Sent them back to the hotel and me head home to rest. Drank quite a bit for the night.

1st September
We went to check out another flat, and it's not to their liking. Apparently it's too untidy, like the previous few we saw.

Had lunch at the famous Outram Park Ya Hua Ru Gu Cha. It's not as nice as what I've expected and what others have mentioned how good it was.

After lunch, we take a tour in Sentosa since it's near by. The weather is too hot for a stroll, so we didn't really venture much in Sentosa. So after some drive around, we left Sentosa for QW to collect a pair of glasses that LS's mum made. I got myself a pair of Air Force One which I saw few days back. ;)

Went to RH to collect LS's medical check up results. We had Ya Kun for afternoon tea and bought 4 bottles of the kaya for LS's mum and Desmond. They like the kaya.

Then we went to SLS to do some window shopping and got myself a ear piece for the walkie talkie which we use during convoy. We went to Funan centre as well to send LS's laptop in for repair. I finally saw the N93, but was greatly disappointed by the feel of the phone. It just doesn't feel sturdy enough and for the price tag of SGD1250, it's doesn't really feel and operate for the value of the phone.

Send LS's parent back to the hotel while Desmond, Tereza, LS and I went to GL lor 9 for the popular and delicious beef kway teow. I had the whiskies in my car and we have it along with the frog leg porridge, oyster with egg and the beef kway teow! Now there's only half a bottle of JB and 1/3 of Macallan left!

We went to MB for tea and also to meet up with some of the ATR gang. Sent them back to the hotel in an hour's time since they are tired. I went back to meet up with the gang and later to Flame bar to meet Nelson who have some friends in Singapore. I went there to check out his 2 females friends. Sad to say, not what I expected. Still the friend of JH at MB is better. Hehehe.

I left Flame bar to meet up with the gang who is at East Coast playing pool. Just after a while, we left for home. And it's already 0400hrs.

2nd September
We had Bak Ku Teh for lunch at Sin Ming drive, which taste much better than the one we had the other day. After lunch, we went ot the hostel to settle some registration issue. Then we went to 328 Katong laksa since Desmond haven't tried it before. After laksa, we went to PWP to check out some Tag Heuer frames which he's keen on, but only a limited model is available. Also got his eyes checked.

There were some kids event going on in PWP. Took some pics of kids playing with sand.

I checked out the N73 which has been out for some time. And was recommend by a friend working at the Singtel shop. Thought I give it a thought and do a check on this model before buying it. It does feel good holding it and I like the phone when I hold it. Much better then the feel of N93.

We went to Suntec City to check out more Tag Heuer frames, also to do more window shopping. We saw this MOMO design watch and I quite like it. It's more to a fun watch, but the price of SGD800 is not that fun. :P

Desmond went back to the hotel first cos he's feeling tired. While the rest sat at CB to have coffee. As I was contemplating over the N73 I saw, we've no idea where to go anymore and I decided to buy the N73 since we're free, thus we headed to CS to buy the N73 from my friend working there. I LOVE MY N73!!

We sent LS and his parents back to the hotel and they choose to settle dinner on their own while Desmond, Tereza and I went to AMK again for the crabs. We had a good talk about work, lifestyles and alot of stuff over delicious crab!

We ended the night at 2330hrs. Desmond have an early flight to catch the next day.

3rd September
Met up with the ATR gang for the Charity Drive Thru at kallang. Got a bunch of 12 tuilps (man-made), which cost SGD2 each, but I gave SGD30.

After the drive thru, pick the Wangs up cos their going back to Shanghai. Dropped them at the airport and I sent LS to his hostel.

Finally got to rest after all these days of travelling around Singapore.

4th September
Went to ICA to get my IC changed cos I've reached 30 years old. Yupe, 30, and the rule to change IC when one is 30. LS came along cos he needs to get his student pass done.

It took us some time to get our photos taken. The queue is long and because of school holidays, alot of kids, and alot of people in ICA! After we got our photos taken, I hand in my application for my IC and since gotta wait like 30 mins to collect my IC, we went for lunch. We have to come back again to get LS's student visa done. The queue is just too long so we decided to get it done after lunch.

Bumped into Nelson at GL as he is having coffee at the usual coffee shop. Had lunch there and went back to ICA. LS's student visa will take another 2 hours to be done, so instead of waiting at ICA, we went to but some groceries.

Back to ICA to collect his student pass and we had dinner at Punggol Nasi Lemak. Then it's home.

My new IC. I know.. I know I look good in that photo. Thanks. ;P

Took a nap before meeting the PWP gang for gym at California at Bugis. This is my gym card. It's a 2 weeks free trail. Since I'm free now and got companions to go in the night which I'm usually awake, no harm going for gym. ;)

Came back really tired.. And my muscles are aching.. Did like 10 minutes of "running" and then some weights to stretch the muscles on other parts of the body.

5th September
Woke up with sores all over my body, especially my thighs. Met up with LS at PWP to check on his DBS account. Had lunch at PWP and then send him back to his hostel. Need to open another account in HSBC for him but he don't have the necessary documents.

Bought some CDs at PWP before going home. The new David Tao's album is what I'm keen on. But bought another 2 more CDs.

David Tao's album came with a gift.

It's actually a love letter he wrote. And behind is a code to listen to his other 5 new songs. But I didn't managed to find a way to enter the codes when I visited his website.

I napped from 1600hrs to 2000hrs, woke up feeling hungry. Had supper with LS and then back home to sleep again.

6th September
Met up with LS in his school, went to HSBC at Coller Quay to open an account for him so his sis can transfer money over to this account. He got the documents ready, but was told by the bank that he is under the age of 16, cannot open account.

What the information counter at PWP told us a different thing. Say with the necessary documents will do fine, then at Coller Quay, the information counter also say can open account. But then, the customer service say not able to! WTF! Waste our time travelling around!

No choice, send him back to his hostel, had dinner at Punggol Nasi Lemak and back home to nap before I head for the gym in the night.

Jeslin, Colin and Andrew came for gym today. Andy is on leave, went to Redang Island! Tonight "ran" 30 minutes and tried 2 other machines which is more tedious. Did some weights and time did pass by fast. Met up with Jason, Alan and Leslie at Changi Village for coffee. Felt tired so left for home early. And as usual, once I got home, I don't feel tried anymore. Spent the night away in front of my iBook and watching TV. Finally I knocked out at 0700hrs!
