Mintex

Ever since I've bought my Brembo brakes, went to 4 track days, and about 6 months of driving, it's high time I change the brake pads. It's already screeching and the braking effect is not as good as ever. Headed down to GTR and got it replaced. On the way to GTR, along PIE, there were 2 traffic police (TP) in front. Most of the cars on the 1st lane drove away from them, which I think is uneccesary, as long as you're driving below the speed limit, it shouldn't be an issue. It didn't came to me that I should stay away from them, instead I drove behind them and when I look at my rear mirror, I was the only one behind them!

It seems like they are escorting me as I drove behind them close to 2 mins and the driving was smooth cos no car was in front of them. Took a few pics and it was a risk. Not sure if they will stop me for using my mobile phone. I do know talking on the mobile phone while driving is against the law. But not sure about taking pics and video. Anyway here is one of the pics.

Can't let them "escort" me for long since my exit is coming up. Went to GTR and was recommended this MIntex high temperature brake pads, which can withstand up to 700 degress. But it may not be good for my rotors, as I was told cos the rotors I got which belong to EVO9 may not withstand the heat, and would warp easily. Anyway changing of rotors will come one day but not now.

While Han was replacing the brake pads, I compared to the new pads and realised how used was the original pads! There was like only 2mm left of compound and it is burnt, black! While the new pads are about 8mm thick, brand new, and grey in colour. No wonder the braking effect is not as good. Cos the compound is almost used up.

Han replacing the brake pads. Took him about 1 hour to change all four brakes.

Rear brakes which I only use normal barake pads. Only the front I used the high temp pads. Since it's the front that where most of the braking is.

Difference of used and brand new pads. (Phone's macro shot is not very good).

The brake pads were still spongy after driving it for 2 days. Takes some time to bed it as I was told. And there are growling sound from the pads cos the compound is still new. Will take some time for the compound to so call heat up and it will brake better, without the growling. The growling better stop, otherwise it is really irritating to have this growling every time when I brake.

Went over to Devil T's office which is just a building away and had a meeting with Devil D and N, to go through the project we're handling. Will have to organise an event on the 3rd and we've only slightly more than 2 weeks to get everything organised.

Had dinner, went through the details, ended at about 2100hrs and we went to have a drink. Got home dead tired and slept pretty early. Is 1am early for me? I think it is. Hahaha.. :P
