Morton's Steak House

For the past few days, have been playing host to Tereza and her husband, Desmond. Picked them up from the airport, head down to LS's school to meet the principal and then to his hostel for Desmond to look at his surroundings. Went back to Oriental hotel's business lounge cos Desmond wanna have a good talk with LS on all the problems he had caused. Tereza and I occupied ourselves with the drinks and finger food the lounge provide while Desmond and LS were in the conference room.

After they were done, and had something light at the lounge, we went to Newton Circus to have our dinner, but found out they just shifted back to the new premises and not much stalls are opened. Instead we went to Bedok South Blk 85, the next popular place for food, which house almost anything under one roof. Desmond can really eat!! There were like 8-10 plates of food and he finished most of it! And he had 2 bowls of Ba Cho Mee! After our late dinner, sent them back to the hotel and follow by sending LS back to his hostel.

The next day, they were on ther own running around places to get LS's stuff to be done. While I get my things done as well. Only to meet them in the evening in the hotel to have dinner at Morton's Steak House which is in the hotel. To be honest, I've not heard of this steak house partly cos I'm not a lover for steak and I don't really eat beef. So I wasn't sure about what this place is about. It was quite an experience cos the waiter is very very good in his presentation, recommendation and very attentive. And there's no reason why the bill shouldn't come to about SGD1000!!! I was stunned when I saw the menu, where starters are priced at SGD30 onwards, steaks are SGD80 onwards, deserts are SGD30 onwards and then wine list goes as high at SGD1000 a bottle! My heart stopped for a moment!

We each had starters, steak, 2 bottles of red wine, and deserts. All these comes to almost SGD1000!! This is by far the most expensive dinner I've eaten before and I've to be honest that the food really meets up to the price!! Desmond foots the bill also a gesture to treat me to dinner for all the help I've given to LS and Tereza while she's here in Singapore.

Here are some pics to share.

I finished the whole steak, half the size of my 12inch iBook and 1inch thick!

The waiter gave LS a pair of Morton's steak knives but he wasn't allowed to bring it back to the hostel, so I kept it for him.

After a sumptuous dinner, we head over to Axis bar to talk about some work matters over Laphroaig whisky and cuban cigar which Tereza brought over. Midnight strikes and Tereza felt hungry, while I'm still full with the wonderful dinner. Headed to have porridge at Havelock road. After supper, sent them back to the hotel.

Came home to my iBook and saw someone whom went missing for 3 weeks and suddenly appear on msn and smsed me. Chatted till 0400hrs before I went to bed cos gotta wake up early to bring them to eat Ba Kut Teh.

Picked them up from the hotel and had Ba Kut Teh at Sin Ming industrial, which I came upon during the period where my car was send in for repair. They loved it and I like it too, after all I'm a fan of Ba Kut Teh and have been going around Singapore to try out the different kinds of Ba Kut Teh. Sent them to ICA to get some final issues to be done and arranged to meet them at the hotel to send them to the airport. Their flight back to Shanghai is 1655hrs.

Picked up my baobei and send her to drop something off, and then went to Oriental to pick up what Tereza left behind. Dropped baobei at Wheellock to collect her phone and I left to meet another friend at 1830hrs for dinner cos she's leaving the country soon.

Brought her to The Wine Company. It's been some time we met each other and her sudden disappearance got me so frustrated and disappointed. And now she finally appear again before she leaves the country. We had a wonderful evening though she's not willing to say what happened, which I respected her decision. We chatted on plenty of topic and made some conculsions on certain matters. But all these topics were never boring cos there are always new findings!

Dinner was good, red wine and desert as well. Here are some pics

The chocolate molton lava is a must must try! Though can't be compared to Morton's chocolate cake, it's close!

Well, she is truly someone whom I can chat with and we will never be sick of each other's weird sense of humor, opinions and mind set. I wish her all the best in her future endeavour! And I won't be visiting her though she keep bugging me if I will be visting her! Hehehehe... :P
